Trip on offer for Dive Doctor

This is a request for a diving doctor for what seems a great trip.............please contact Lloyd on the details below.

This trip or position is not endorsed by SPUMS in any way and is done as a community service.

My name is Lloyd Fletcher. I am a Doctor working with the Australian Antarctic Division at the moment.

Archeologist-friends of mine with the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney are planning a dive on the Great Barrier Reef, from 1st December to 14th December, looking for the wrecks of Matthew Flinders “Cato” and “Porpoise”. They are seeking a Doctor to accompany the dive. I went on a similar 2-week dive with them last year, and enjoyed it immensely. I said that I would go this time, but now find I have serious family issues. I would like to offer this dive to anyone who would be interested.

The Museum does not require a dive-qualified Doctor, a GP is fine. However, dive experience would be advantageous for everyone. It is not deep diving, 30 feet usually maximum. The Doctor does not have to be scuba qualified, but it would be preferred if he/she was willing to snorkel and help survey the reef area. Airfares and travel expenses are paid, but there is no pay for the 2-weeks on the dive vessels.

Would you please ask your members if anyone is interested? They can contact me on 0439-298-657 for further details.

Thank you for your help.

Lloyd Fletcher.
