SPUMS Privacy Policy

SPUMS is strongly committed to protecting your privacy. The purpose of this policy is to tell you what kind of information we may gather about you, how we may use that information, whether we disclose it to anyone, and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to correct this information.

Collection of Information

Information is collected primarily to enable you to fully enjoy the benefits of being a member of the Society. Individually identifiable personal information (such as name, address, qualifications etc) is required to allocate a SPUMS membership category and deliver the SPUMS Journal and SPUMS notices. Your e-mail address allows us to inform you of additional updates to the Society, the Annual Scientific Conference or notices specific to the Society. You can choose not to receive such information via e-mail.

Use of Personal Information

SPUMS will only use the personal information you have provided for the purpose for which you have provided it. SPUMS will not use it for any other purpose without your consent.

Disclosure

SPUMS will not disclose personal information to any organisation or person outside of SPUMS unless you have authorised us to do so (for example inclusion on the SPUMS Diving Doctor list).

No sale of personal information

Under no circumstances will SPUMS sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information.

Access and correction: personal data

SPUMS will where possible provide you with online access to your personal information. SPUMS will take reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up to date.

SPUMS operates secure data networks that are designed to protect your privacy and security.

Complaints about privacy

If you have any complaints relating to online privacy issues on our website, please notify SPUMS. While SPUMS accepts no liability for any material or links posted to the service, we will investigate all complaints.
