Can anyone suggest a good document or article to provide prospective divers as patient education?

Hello Paul,

The new SPUMS dive medical goes into a few of the issues regarding Asthma. We are deciding whether to make it available online.

One of the issues is what exact level are you aiming at? Medical papers can be a bit of a double edged sword in this respect.

Regards Glen

A level suited to the "Reasonable Adult".

I do not mean scientific articles but perhaps an article in which the topic is discussed or a document specifically written to inform prospective and current divers of the associated risks.

Hi Paul,

You might get some help from our recent chapter in Neuman and Thom (Eds) Physiology and Medicine of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Mitchell and Bennett, Chapter 6, pages 65 to 94.

Contains essentially our thinking on asthma at this time.
